The Ton currency or The Open Network is a blockchain network originally developed by the Telegram app team, aiming to provide decentralized and fast solutions for digital transactions. TON relies on the Proof of Stake (PoS) protocol and offers an integrated environment for smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and fast payments. One of TON's near-term goals is to enhance its use as a payment method within Telegram, and to expand its network to become a decentralized platform capable of hosting various services such as decentralized cloud storage, services, and NFT markets, with a focus on reducing fees and increasing transaction speeds.
