The Trump administration is considering implementing comprehensive travel restrictions affecting citizens from 43 countries. This proposed policy is categorized into three groups:

  1. Full Visa Suspensions: Citizens from 11 countries: Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Venezuela, Yemen, and Pakistan would face complete visa suspensions.

  2. Partial Visa Suspensions: Five countries: Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, and South Sudan would experience partial visa suspensions, affecting certain visa categories.

  3. Conditional Restrictions: Citizens from 26 countries, including Russia, Belarus, and India, would face partial visa suspensions unless their governments address specific security concerns within 60 days.

The administration justifies these measures as necessary for national security, aiming to address perceived security threats due to inadequate passport security and insufficient traveler data sharing.

It's important to note that these restrictions are still under consideration and have not been finalized. The list of affected countries may change as the administration reviews and updates its policies. Additionally, these measures could have significant implications for international travelers, immigrants, and diplomatic relations.
