This is wisdom
1. A person with brains can think for themselves and not blindly follow others. A person without brains believes whatever others say and just follows the crowd.
2. An understanding person knows it’s better to rely on oneself than on others. Striving to improve oneself is the right thing to do. A not-so-smart person thinks about relying on others, and once there’s no one to rely on, they are left dumbfounded.
3. A capable person knows when to keep quiet and doesn’t speak easily. A confused person always jumps in to speak, often saying the wrong things.
4. An open-minded person can accept setbacks and failures calmly and learn from them. A narrow-minded person curses the heavens and the earth when faced with difficulties and can’t get back up.
5. A broad-minded person looks far ahead and doesn’t take immediate gains and losses too seriously. A petty person focuses on immediate benefits, losing the watermelon for the sake of a sesame seed.
6. A visionary person can think ahead and plan early. A shortsighted person only considers the present and takes one step at a time, with no long-term plans whatsoever.
