#UkraineRussiaCeasefire
The United States and Ukraine agreed on a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine on March 11, 2025, contingent on Russia's agreement. This development came after US and Ukrainian representatives met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for bilateral talks. The joint statement emphasized that Russia's reciprocity is crucial for achieving peace, and the ceasefire can be extended if all parties agree.¹
However, Russian ultranationalist voices and milbloggers have largely rejected the ceasefire proposal, citing concerns that the US and Ukraine will abandon peace efforts at the first opportunity. Russian State Duma Deputy Viktor Sobolev also stated that Russia should not agree to the ceasefire, as it would allow Ukraine to rearm and regroup.
Despite the proposed ceasefire, Russian forces continue to make advances in Kursk Oblast and have begun attacking Sudzha. Ukrainian forces, on the other hand, conducted a large-scale series of drone strikes against Russia on the night of March 10-11, targeting Moscow Oblast.
