The Little Brown Jug - Lochlan Hanover

The Little Brown Jug is one of the most well known harness racing events in North America, specifically for 3-year-old standardbred pacers, with the race being held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Delaware, Ohio.

Founded in 1946, the Little Brown Jug is part of the Pacing Triple Crown, alongside the Cane Pace and the Messenger Stakes.

The Little Brown Jug consists of two heats, with the top horses from the first heat advancing to a second. The winner must win both heats.

The race offers a hefty purse, (in 2023 $1,000,000 & 2024 $800,000), with the winner receiving not just the monetary reward but also the iconic Little Brown Jug trophy, which is a large jug originally purchased for $4.00 in 1946. This trophy has become a symbol of excellence in pacing.

Your horse, Lochlan Hanover, has been nominated to run in the Little Brown Jug.
