In October 2024, Ripple introduced a new stablecoin RLUSD, aiming to challenge market leaders such as Tether and USDC, which together account for nearly 90% of the stablecoin market. RLUSD is fully backed by dollar deposits, government bonds, and cash equivalents, and is available on Uphold and Bitstamp platforms.
