Why Are They Irreversible?

Blockchain Design: Cryptocurrencies operate on decentralized ledgers with no central authority (like a bank) to intervene. Once a transaction is confirmed (typically after a set number of network confirmations—e.g., 3 for Bitcoin), it’s permanent.

No Recourse: Unlike credit card payments, there’s no intermediary to appeal to for a reversal. If you send crypto to an incorrect or unknown address, recovery depends entirely on the recipient’s cooperation.
