President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is ready to sign an agreement with the United States regarding the extraction and use of Ukrainian minerals.
He announced this during a conversation with journalists after the summit of European leaders in London on March 2, 2025.
According to Zelensky, despite the tense meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump that took place on Friday in the Oval Office, the parties maintain the possibility for dialogue and cooperation. In particular, the President of Ukraine emphasized that he is ready to sign the agreement and believes in the American side's willingness to do the same.
Zelensky also stated that he does not think the U.S. will stop assisting Ukraine, as, he said, "the leaders of the civilized world" will not want to help Volodymyr Putin.
At the same time, Zelensky stressed that he remains ready for any challenges that may arise.
"I am ready for any constructive format of relations with the United States. I believe we have everything for this. And it is in our hands to preserve all of this. From our side, we are very much counting on this," said Zelensky.
