PANews reported on February 27 that U.S. court documents show the SEC, along with Justin Sun, the Tron Foundation, the BitTorrent Foundation, and Rainberry, jointly submitted a motion to the Southern District of New York Federal Court, requesting a pause in the SEC's fraud lawsuit against Sun and Tron to consider 'potential solutions.'

The documents state that pausing the lawsuit is in the interest of all parties, will not harm any party or the public, and can also avoid the court ruling on the motion to dismiss from the Tron side, saving judicial resources. If the judge approves, the case will be paused for 60 days, during which both parties must submit a joint status report.

The SEC filed a lawsuit against Sun and his affiliated companies in 2023, accusing them of market manipulation, fraud, and issuing unregistered securities. This application is similar to how the SEC handled cases against Coinbase and Binance, which may indicate that the two parties are nearing a settlement.
