Today is February 28, 2025, the last day of February. Everyone should know how the market looks today. Ethereum hit the monthly support at 2100, Bitcoin filled the 78 gap, and the altcoins that have dropped enough seem to have hit a temporary bottom. The rebound strength is not strong, and we may enter a period of consolidation.
Then regarding my situation, I blew my account today, losing 1400 U.
First, let’s review my operations over the past month. Before the crash on February 3rd, I accurately invested to buy the dip, and within an hour I made over 600 U. There's nothing much to say about this; many people suffered during that time. After getting up, I bought Ethereum at 2800, and after not checking for an hour, it exploded, which felt unreal.
Then on February 4th, I invested 500 yuan (67 U) to prepare for a challenge to reach 1000 U. There are records of these on my homepage. On February 9th, I sold off my principal, and the last update was on February 18th with a balance of 470 U.
From February 4th to 21st, I mainly engaged in event contracts, only doing a few U-denominated trades. Most of the time, I held no positions, peaking at 556 U. Then on the night of the 22nd, I impulsively traded event contracts and ended up losing everything. On Saturday, there was no market activity, and I shouldn’t have operated that way, right? At that time, I seemed to be in bed, not thinking clearly, and lost nearly 20 days of hard work. This is actually the norm for many people in the crypto circle: making a poor trade during a moment of impulsive and unclear thinking, leading to losing long-term accumulated gains. Many people are not unable to make money temporarily; on the contrary, those who have multiplied their investments several times, or even tenfold, often still remain in the crypto circle. Ultimately, losses may be due to not withdrawing funds. Regular withdrawals are very important; those who understand know.
Then on February 23rd, thinking about investing a bit more, I realized that small amounts of capital weren’t making much money and were consuming energy, so I invested 7000 RMB, about 950 U.
At this time, I was also doing event contracts and U-denominated trades and made a little profit. However, during Ethereum's decline, I bought the dip at 2616 without a stop-loss, got stuck in a locked position, and made some trades to recover about 300 U in profit. Meanwhile, my position’s floating loss kept increasing. Today, without locking my position, I blew my account. Actually, it shouldn’t have happened, but I withdrew 350 U to trade event contracts, which led to the loss. During the holding period, my funds fluctuated between 800-1400 U. In fact, many times, closing the position would have resulted in a few hundred U in profit compared to investing. But greed led me to still long Bitcoin at 868, and when I made a profit, I didn’t exit. Even when there was an opportunity to sell during the rebound the next day, I still didn’t. The result was blowing my account today. I can’t blame anyone; it’s my own issue. I’ve been in a position where after blowing my account, I open positions with stop-losses for a while, but switching between frequently wearing down my capital and not stop-lossing while holding onto positions is a problem due to my lack of a system and not having a trading plan.
Today, I re-invested 500 yuan (67 U). Perhaps I just cannot handle a large amount of funds, so I can only aim for a few tens of U. Let's return to this challenge. Today, I completed a few event contracts and my balance is now 101 U, continuing my challenge to reach 1000 U.
Future plans are:
1. Open fewer U-denominated trades, and always apply strict stop-losses when opening positions, using low leverage and light positions for compounding.
2. Withdraw 300 U weekly, with the first week only requiring the withdrawal of principal. Of course, it’s already Friday now, and with little market activity over the weekend, I’ll start counting from the next week. My ongoing goal remains to double my investment each week, but I won’t force it; I’ll do whatever I can.
3. Read more trading books to improve my understanding. I might share insights in the square after finishing.
I am currently in a state of historical maximum loss, with a historical loss of about 4300 U. Let’s see if I can slowly recover it. There’s no rush; just operate with the amount of funds I have. Thinking about quickly recouping losses is not a healthy mindset.
