🪙 Ethereum could reach 10 million TPS and billions of USD in revenue daily over the next 10 years
The top "minds" of the Ethereum Foundation held an AMA on Reddit to address all questions about scalability, Layer 1 revenue, and ETH security.
The main highlight is the Pectra upgrade, which helps reduce data costs for Layer 2. Additionally, Ethereum is pushing for native rollups - a solution that allows L2 to integrate directly into L1 rather than just serving as a support role as it currently does, attracting interest from Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, and Scroll.
In response to how Ethereum overcomes the issue of L2 diminishing the value of L1 and ETH, instead of just relying on L2 to burn more ETH, Justin Drake explained in detail the plan to increase sustainable revenue through DA, along with a bold prediction:
In the next 10 years, Ethereum could process 10 million transactions/second (TPS) – equivalent to 100 transactions/day for each user. If each transaction only collects 0.001 USD, the network's revenue could reach 1 billion USD/day.
