SolJakey, a prominent crypto influencer, said he left the country after receiving a series of death threats. The threats came amid allegations of insider trading involving LIBRA, a token tied to Argentine President Javier Milei.
SolJakey and the LIBRA Connection
SolJakey was found to be associated with #HaydenDavis , his brother, and crypto firm Kelsier Ventures, which helped launch LIBRA as well as MELANIA, a token associated with former US First Lady Melania Trump.
Things came to a head on February 15 when SolJakey posted a lengthy social media post defending KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) in the crypto industry and discussing insider trading. He even filmed a short video pretending to be an insider trader, which angered many in the crypto community.
Three days later, on February 18, SolJakey claimed to have received threats from people claiming to know his whereabouts. For safety reasons, he and some of his associates decided to move to a secret location with a private pool. Part of the move was filmed and edited into a video with moody background music.
Explanation From SolJakey
At the luxury hideout, SolJakey denied all allegations related to LIBRA, asserting:
“I wasn't involved in the launch of #libra . I traded it like everyone else.”
“I never received any tokens, never had an early CA (crypto address), never sniped or insider traded in any form.”
“I entered LIBRA at an average price of 2.5B and ended up just breaking even.”
However, SolJakey admitted that he had anticipated an Argentinian token to launch soon, as Hayden Davis had revealed that he was advising President Javier Milei and had also helped launch MELANIA.
“We had the advantage of knowing in advance that an Argentine coin was coming, but I didn’t know anything else about LIBRA,” he admitted. He also stressed that it was just a case of “right person, wrong time” and that he himself was only accidentally implicated.
This observation is consistent with the revelations of many other crypto influencers, including the LA Vape Cabal, who said that information about an Argentine token was an “open secret” in the memecoin trading world.
Relationship With Hayden Davis And Kelsier Ventures
SolJakey also explained his relationship with Hayden Davis, claiming that the two met multiple times in Los Angeles, Istanbul, and Barcelona. At a dinner in Barcelona, he also met @CavemanDhirk – the founder of DefiTuna, who later severed ties with Kelsier Ventures. However, SolJakey insisted that all of these meetings were unrelated to LIBRA.
The case continues to attract a lot of attention in the crypto community. The involvement of influencers and #kol in projects with signs of insider trading is always a sensitive issue, greatly affecting investor confidence. Although SolJakey denied all allegations, his departure from the country after receiving threats has raised more questions in the community about his true role in this case.
