Testing of the Pectra update for Ethereum starts today on the Holesky test network. This is an important step for the entire ecosystem: developers will be able to test new features before integrating them into the mainnet.
Pectra will bring many improvements: new rewards for validators, support for second-level scaling, account abstraction, and an increase in Ethereum storage. For example, the update will allow validators to receive rewards from their balance up to 2048 ETH instead of the current 32 ETH, which will make their work more profitable.
In addition, there will be support for EIP-3074, which will allow users to make transactions without having to keep ETH in their account. This will simplify interaction with the network and lower the entry threshold for new users.
Ethereum developers have been accelerating the implementation of updates lately. They strive to implement key changes faster so that the network remains competitive and user-friendly. The only question is: how soon will these improvements reach the main network and how easily will the ecosystem adapt to them? What do you think about this?
