😡Infini Stablecoin Bank Hacked, 49.5 Million USDC Lost
Infini has once again become the victim of a severe hack, resulting in a loss of 49.5 million USDC. According to Wu Blockchain, assets in Infini's USDC Vault were transferred twice due to a private key leak. After stealing the USDC, the hacker swapped it for DAI and purchased 17,696 ETH before transferring it to a new wallet.
38 minutes ago, Infini posted on X that:
"We have acknowledged reports of a security breach affecting Infini and sincerely apologize for the concerns this has caused. Our team is working tirelessly to investigate and ensure the safety of the entire system.
Currently, all transactions, deposits, withdrawals, and payments continue to operate normally and without interruption.".
In addition, Infini's founder, Christian, has committed to compensating users 100% if the project is unable to recover the assets.
This incident occurs in the wake of the aftermath of the Bybit hack worth 1.4 billion USD, which has not yet settled. However, the CEO of Bybit confirmed that they have reclaimed 1.2 billion USD in ETH in just over 2 days thanks to the cooperation of industry organizations, providing hope that Infini may also recover some of the lost assets.
