#MileiMemeCoinControversy
In Argentina, the "crypto scandal" shook the Casa Rosada. After President Javier Milei promoted the cryptocurrency called $Libra through his X account, it collapsed by almost 100% and caused losses for thousands of users who trusted the words of the leader. This generated great discontent in the political and economic world, who denounced the far-right leader as a fraud.
Cryptocurrency experts expressed their concern about the negative impact on public trust, while the American newspaper The New York Times published an article comparing him to Donald Trump and labeled the situation as a "political storm," emphasizing the need for greater regulation and transparency in this market.
In the last decade, the creation of these tokens has become more common than we think, with more than two and a half million cryptocurrencies to date. This figure has grown significantly due to the ease of creation and continuous innovation in the crypto market. Every day, thousands of new tokens are launched, although not all manage to sustain themselves over time, as happened with $Libra in Argentina.
Maduro Accuses Javier Milei of Being a "Crypto Fraudster."
Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro accused his Argentine counterpart, Javier Milei, of being a "crypto fraudster" following the collapse of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA.
During his weekly program "With Maduro," Maduro described the scandal as a "big scam" and claimed that Milei is a "puppet" of world leaders seeking to loot Argentina.
Maduro also questioned Milei's mental health and stated that the Argentine people "accumulate" and that the day of justice will come.
The Anti-Corruption Office of Argentina has initiated an investigation into the case.
