Argentine President Javier Milei is facing calls for impeachment after promoting a cryptocurrency called $LIBRA, which saw its value plummet shortly after he backed it. On February 14, 2025, Milei tweeted on the X platform (formerly Twitter) promoting the coin, sending its market cap to around $4.5 billion. However, within hours, the value had dropped by more than 94%, sparking accusations of a “rug pull” scam, where developers promote the coin and then sell their stakes, leaving investors with huge losses.
