Master Hongyi: Words of wisdom for countless people.

1. Many people never understand why they become ill before they die. Most diseases are caused by family discord and mutual torment among relatives. Many diseases are related to emotions. People die from anger, flowers wilt from overwatering; any serious illness is inevitably linked to emotions. Long-term poor emotional states will surely lead to serious illnesses. Health maintenance is not just about what to eat and drink; it is about nurturing one's mindset, feelings, and outlook. Remember, do not let your body pay the price for your emotions. When you are unhappy, think about how many days you have left to mess around and how much time you have left to squander; when you find yourself in a hospital bed, how much money will it take to lift you up? Once a person loses their health, their partner and children may not belong to them; without health, wealth and fame will not be theirs either.

2. The sign of a person's blessings coming is actually an increasingly stable mood, rarely getting inexplicably angry. Each day, they manage to maintain a gentle and mild mindset, not rejoicing in material gain, nor grieving personal loss. This does not mean that there are no troubles in their life, but rather that they carry a kind of awareness of both troubles and enlightenment, transforming life's adversities into nourishment for further self-improvement.

3. If your magnetic field is strong enough and your blessings are great enough, then those who bully you will be the ones to suffer; this is no exaggeration, for they are not bullying you, but your guardian spirit. You may think you are not capable of much, but your guardian spirit possesses immense power. Therefore, the most pure, true, and good person has a bodyguard built into their fate.

4. Everything you want to control actually controls yourself. When you desire nothing, the world is yours. When you clench your fist and have nothing in your hands, if you release your fingers, you can possess the entire world. Do not fear loss; what you lose never belonged to you. What you think is a regret for missing out may actually be a blessing in disguise. Do not be greedy; you cannot have everything, and do not lose heart; you cannot have nothing. What I have lost was never mine, and what I seek binds me. All things are for my use, not for my possession. A gentleman uses things, not to be used by them. The great way is simple; without desire, one is strong; without action, one can do anything.

5. If you become anxious about bad things that have not yet happened, it is like encountering two bad things. If an event has passed and you cannot move on and keep thinking about it, it is like encountering three bad things. Preparing for rain is only valid if you have the ability. Since there are some things beyond your control, why not let yourself go? Value yourself more, and treat others and other matters lightly. As long as you do not care, then no one and nothing can harm you.

6. When feeling irritable, do not speak and do not make any decisions; stay quiet for a while. You must understand that an adult's troubles are not suitable for sharing with anyone. A true strong person lays bare their heart in the quiet of the night, mending it themselves. Forgive everything before sleep, and upon waking, it is a rebirth. All suffering is only to be crossed by oneself.

7. Remember not to interfere with the causes and effects of others; do not disturb the fortunes of others, or you will only drain your own energy. Medicine does not knock on doors, teachers do not walk random paths, teachings are not lightly shared, the way is not sold cheaply, divination is not fully counted, do not ask and do not speak. Remember, in the adult world, there is no selection, no education, no change, only choices. Bad mud can be bad just fine; you cannot insist on propping it up against a wall. A salted fish can lie well; you cannot insist on flipping it over. A rotten piece of wood, you cannot insist on carving it into wealth. You must restrain yourself from correcting the obsessions of others. Even if the rain is heavy, it does not nourish rootless grass; the way is wide, but only those with fate can be crossed.

8. A person may not necessarily believe in Buddha, but they must have the Buddha nature. Buddha nature emphasizes the word 'good', while Zen seeks the word 'gentle'. Treat others with a Buddha heart, and you yourself are a Buddha; understanding others with Buddha nature, one can also embody Buddha. Great compassion arises from great goodness, great goodness from great love, and great love from great virtue. Buddha nature is the root of human wisdom. When the state of mind changes, the nature of the heart will also change. Be a kind person; peace of mind is your home.

9. From the day you were born, the bowl you hold, the food you eat, the experiences you go through, when and whom you marry, are all predetermined. Do not make things difficult for yourself; just go with the flow. You have already seen the script of your life in heaven. The reason you chose this script is because there are aspects of it that you find worthwhile.

10. You wish well for others, but they may not be well; yet you will definitely be well because your heart is beautiful. If you cannot bear to see others do well, they may not be doing poorly, but you will definitely not be well because your heart lacks beauty. Doing good for others, blessings may not have arrived, but misfortune has already distanced itself. Doing evil for others, misfortune may have arrived, but blessings have distanced themselves. When you have others in your heart, others will have you in theirs. It may seem like we are helping others, but in the end, we are actually helping ourselves. So, everything has a cause and effect; our appearance arises from our heart, and our surroundings change with our heart. When the heart holds beauty, the places we see will be bathed in radiant sunlight.
