Huge sum of money are distributed to communities from “AIRDROPS”. But what does it really contribute to the ecosystem as a whole? Let’s dive in.
We all know how the crypto community became so wild because of these recent airdrops that happened, the energy went crazy! People are hunting for potential airdrops like crazy! You see how everyone praise one project after they do the airdrop, but after a few days, even if the project has good product, they won’t be utilized anymore because people will be looking for next airdrops and the cycle continues. I will make Arkham Intelligence as an example, they have a product that I find amazing and useful for individuals. But few weeks after their Airdrop event, they’re now forgotten. Of course not completely, people who see the real value of their tools continue to utilize it. But since people are more focused on looking for the next free tokens / Airdrops, they fail to see the potential and the real value the project provides in the crypto ecosystem. Airdrop somehow is like a shiny coin that hinders some to see the “real value” and not just that, and for projects launching without airdrops, people don’t see it valuable anymore, they even sometimes talk shit about them because there’s no “love for their community”
How I think this can be changed? The idea of giving back to the community is good, its not bad at all, but I think projects should do this after their product is used by the community in a year or two, that’s giving back! Not on the initial launch, because I don’t see the real value of that. Marketing strategy, sure! But there’s so many ways other than Airdrops yeah?
I am not against Airdrops and I love to see people happy getting free stuff, I love free stuff myself, I received airdrops myself, but I think It doesn’t really add value to the ecosystem as a whole until it's done properly.
And there are some projects that are executing this already, the point system, and you see the growth on these projects. I started to appreciate the project when I started to actually use the product for myself, and I enjoy earning the points for the rewards. There won’t be any chaos in chasing the “next potential airdrops” , there will be more exchanges of conversation about the products and tools they use, and you will see a change of scenery in the crypto community. People will actually research on projects and products they introduce, the team, THE IMPORTANT Details, not just the FUNDS Raised alone.
Decentralization is a gift from Satoshi to us, I see it as a solution for today’s problems like corruption. But still mostly see it as just “Ponzi” “Scam” but if we show them that we are actually using the products not for quick money making scheme things, then maybe in the next 5 years, we will see vast adaption, it's not going to be hard to onboard people to crypto anymore. #BTC #ETH #crypto #airdrop #blockchain $BTC $BNB
