Beeple announces next chapter of HUMAN ONE
Beeple, the digital artist behind EVERYDAYS, announces the fifth chapter of his kinetic sculpture series HUMAN ONE, which debuts in November 2024 at the Deji Art Museum in Nanjing, China.
If you look closely, you’ll notice a seed phrase hidden in the video that allows the discoverer to access a secret wallet and retrieve a special dual-version NFT.
B3 Chain will launch its native token
B3, a blockchain gaming ecosystem created by former Base developers, announced plans to launch its native token, B3, which will support Base’s third-layer gaming ecosystem and provide support for game trading, publishing, and staking incentives.
The B3 team says that since its inception, it has attracted more than 6 million players, launched more than 80 games, and has established partnerships with at least five studios and brands that are preparing to release new game chains.
Berachain Mainnet Launch
Berachain, a proof-of-liquidity blockchain developed for decentralized finance, launched its mainnet on February 6.
The network aims to introduce a staking model that rewards users for providing liquidity while maintaining decentralization.
Prior to the mainnet launch, Berachain conducted several months of testing on its original V1 testnet Artio and its V2 testnet bArtio (launched in June 2024).
Coinbase acquires Spindl for on-chain advertising
Coinbase announced the acquisition of Spindl, a Web3 advertising analytics company that specializes in using blockchain data to run campaigns for advertisers.
“The Spindl team has unparalleled expertise in on-chain advertising,” Coinbase wrote in the announcement. According to the description, Coinbase will acquire the Spindl team and technology to better help builders find distribution channels across various on-chain economies on the Coinbase platform.
Igloo, Inc. Brings Institutional Capital to Consumer Cryptocurrency
Igloo, Inc., the blockchain infrastructure company behind Pudgy Penguins, announced a push to bring institutional and commercial investment into the character-driven ecosystem, which includes the PENGU token and Pudgy Penguin NFTs.
The plan marks a broader effort to position digital products as collectibles and the intellectual property ecosystem it has created as worthy of institutional capital, with the brand saying on Twitter that it plans to make the penguin the most recognizable character in the world.
If successful, it would set a precedent for institutional capital to flow into consumer-facing crypto brands.
The Beatles win first Grammy for AI-assisted song
The Beatles won the world’s first AI-assisted song Grammy for “Now and Then,” which used AI to restore and integrate John Lennon’s original vocals.
The win marks a milestone for AI-augmented music production and its role in reviving archived recordings.
Visa Executive Joins Phantom
Former Visa vice president AJ Shanley announced his move to crypto wallet company Phantom, reflecting a growing trend of traditional financial executives turning to web3 startups.
The move comes as Phantom (originally marketed as the Solana wallet) adds support for the Sui blockchain, and in addition to Solana, Phantom now supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Base, and Sui.
Refik Anadol and Absen to Present “California Landscapes” at ISE Europe
Refik Anadol, a media artist known for his work with machine learning, has teamed up with leading LED display manufacturer Absen to present an AI-powered art installation at the European Integrated Systems Show in Barcelona.
Using an experimental version of the generative art tool Stable Diffusion, the installation combines algorithmic artwork with high-resolution display technology to transform data from digital archives and public sources into creative visualizations of California’s natural landscapes.
