In the world of cryptocurrency, Poland has made a breakthrough, leaving El Salvador behind and becoming the fifth country in the world in terms of the number of cryptocurrency ATMs. Until recently, this was unthinkable, but now the total number of crypto ATMs in Poland has reached 219, after the installation of ten new devices on January 27.
The country has seen 24 new crypto ATMs pop up in the last four months, indicating growing interest in digital currencies. According to Bitcoin ATM Radar, the number of crypto ATMs is also growing in other countries.
The leaders remain the USA and Canada with a huge gap — there are 30,780 and 3,062 devices respectively. Australia confidently took third place, surpassing the 1,000 cryptomat mark back in April 2024.
And here is El Salvador, which was in third place in the ranking in October 2022, has now lost its position. The number of active devices has decreased to 215, and the country is no longer in the top five.
There are approximately 38,100 cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide, available in 65 countries. They are serviced by 356 operators.
Cryptomats significantly simplify access for investors to cryptocurrency services, although they do not have a direct impact on the spread of digital assets in countries. However, regulators occasionally confiscate these devices, fearing their use for money laundering and financing terrorism.
