The House of Cards is Falling! Musk Throws Cold Water on Trump's AI Plans: 'They Actually Don't Have the Money'
U.S. President Trump unveiled a project he described as a 'massive' and 'landmark' $500 billion artificial intelligence infrastructure project on Tuesday at the White House with executives from prominent tech companies. Hours later, Elon Musk publicly questioned whether the joint project could get off the ground.
Musk wrote on his social media platform X that the two companies involved in the project do not have enough funding to fulfill their commitments.
These comments provide an initial understanding of the sometimes awkward relationship between Trump and Musk, the billionaire who had funded Trump's campaign and was appointed by Trump to oversee cuts to government spending and streamline the federal bureaucracy. At the same time, these comments also indicate that even with Trump in office, the Tesla CEO would not reduce his unfiltered comments online.
