Binance Futures officially delists the perpetual contract REEFUSDT USDⓈ-M, adjusts leverage and margin on January 22, 2025.

Binance Futures, Binance's cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform, has just announced it will delist the perpetual contract REEFUSDT USDⓈ-M on January 22, 2025. Specifically, open positions will be automatically settled at 09:00 (UTC) on the same day. After the settlement process is completed, this contract will officially be delisted.

This move coincides with Binance Futures adjusting the leverage and margin tiers for the REEFUSDT USDⓈ-M contract from 07:30 on January 15, 2025 (UTC). Notably, positions opened before the update will not be affected by this change.

Details of the changes in leverage and margin:

• Maximum leverage: Remains unchanged for tiers below 500,000 USDT, but significantly reduced for tiers above 500,000 USDT.

• Maintenance margin level: No change for most position tiers, but the maximum position value for certain levels has been adjusted to align with the new leverage.

For example, 1x leverage now only applies to positions from 600,000 to 650,000 USDT, instead of up to 1,500,000 USDT as before. This may be a move to mitigate risks in a highly volatile market.

Note from Binance Futures:

1. Users should close all open positions before 08:30 on January 22, 2025 (UTC) to avoid automatic settlement.

2. Binance will not allow opening new positions from that point on.

3. The platform reserves the right to implement additional protective measures without prior notice in the event of significant market fluctuations. These measures include:

• Adjustment of maximum leverage value and margin level.

• Change in price index composition.

• Implementation of price protection mechanisms to update the Mark Price.

This delisting and adjustment may signal that Binance is optimizing its contract portfolio while enhancing risk control amid the continuous volatility of the digital asset market.

For investors, this is a reminder of the importance of monitoring announcements from the trading platform and managing risk closely in the current volatile market environment.
