Investing in blockchain and cryptocurrency requires many qualities, such as keen insight, quick response, the latest news, active attempts, and some luck.
But as an industry that is not widely supported, many friends, including me, may occasionally temporarily leave or semi-leave this challenging blockchain field.
Just like when you were a student, if you accidentally fell asleep in class and failed to grasp a few key pieces of knowledge, it might be the beginning of a Waterloo in your entire academic performance. In a broader sense, it might be a turning point in your entire life.
The blockchain world is similar; if you fall behind in one place, you may gradually lose the opportunities and methods you once had, until you no longer have the chance to seize the benefits of this era.
One of the most painful things for people is watching regrets happen.
So today, I created this content hoping to first help myself organize my thoughts, and if possible, help more friends set sail again.
First, we need to rethink what we truly want.
Many friends' first answer is money. Of course, but it's not entirely the case.
Money is one of the things we need the most, but in this circle, some methods can quickly make money, but many friends choose not to go that route.
Because everyone has different preferences, and their acceptance of morals and other norms varies, even if the same opportunity presents itself, choices will differ. What we actually want is different.
Taking myself as an example, what I want most in web3 is to earn safe and morally sound money through accumulation. Ideally: earn a lot of money, be safe and healthy, not stand out in a crowd, and hopefully learn something to improve myself.
For everyone, what each person wants is different. But it's important to know what you want the most.
This is very important. For example, if you want safety, you need to be calm when faced with high-risk opportunities. If you want a more challenging life and a more interesting existence, then go ahead boldly; courage can create more possibilities. It varies from person to person; don’t forget your original intention to achieve your goals.
Then, think about how you made money in web3 before? What strengths do you have? Is there an opportunity for what you are currently earning to scale?
From my personal observation and understanding, the main directions for making money include the following, which are certainly not exhaustive. I hope everyone can brainstorm and supplement: 1. Periodic, speculative long-term investment, medium-term, short-term, etc. 2. Quantitative trading, swing trading, and arbitrage. 3. Yield farming, events, airdrops, etc. 4. Commissions, communities, content creation, knowledge monetization.
Making money from areas where there have already been profits and some experience and insights is obviously much better than trying to explore unknown fields again.
Do what you are good at. If you do one thing well, try to see if you can do more. If you can achieve something in one project, see if you can replicate that in other projects. If a process works on one chain, see if it can also work on other chains.
Everyone's capabilities are limited, and the same goes for investing. Places where we've previously made profits are often our strengths. We can try unfamiliar areas, but there's no need to waste time continuously.
In addition, learn to avoid pitfalls. Learn from past mistakes; we must be cautious about the mistakes we've made and the pitfalls we've encountered. Areas where we have repeatedly erred must not be repeated.
Finally, even if there have been interruptions, starting a new phase of continuous learning can bring us closer to success again. For example, follow those teachers on social media who have consistently posted, join interactive project groups, and chat with friends from the past in the circle. Perhaps this is the opportunity to get back on track.
As the saying goes: the best time to plant a tree was ten years ago, the second-best time is now. As long as you are willing, there is an opportunity to start at any time. Seize the time and opportunities; the time left for us in this bull market is limited.
