The Cardano (ADA) development team has recently implemented a series of important upgrades to the platform's protocol to enhance performance and ensure stable operation for users. These updates, made this week, focus on optimizing the core elements of the network, including underlying technology, scalability, and other improvements.

Important update from Cardano

According to information from an official blog post, Cardano developers have made several notable changes to the protocol in the past week. Specifically, the core technology team has upgraded the node version from v.10.1.1 to v.10.1.2. At the same time, the DB Sync team has completed the pre-release of version 13.6.0.0, compatible with node v.10.1.0.

In addition, Cardano has also adopted a decentralized submission method to implement governance tasks through the cardano-cli tool, affirming the reliability and scalability of the platform. The development team has also announced plans to reduce submission costs and improve scalability, thanks to the ability to execute transactions with an increased number of votes without affecting performance.

In terms of scalability, the Mithril team has continued efforts to develop the new pre-distribution release (2445.0-pre), while also completing the recording of aggregated metrics into the event store and adding support for Cardano node v.10.1. In addition, this team is also researching solutions to register signers as multiple aggregators operate on the Mithril network. One significant advancement is the implementation of a nightly check process in CI to ensure backward compatibility with previous distributions, while also developing a new state route in the aggregator.

Improvements after the Voltaire upgrade

Since Cardano completed the Voltaire upgrade, the final phase in the decentralization process of the network, the platform has witnessed strong development. Within the framework of the Voltaire phase, voting rights have been fully decentralized to ADA holders, enhancing democracy in deciding important network issues.

The Cardano node v.10.1.2 has been updated with numerous improvements, particularly new commands implemented based on feedback from the community, especially from stake pool operators. As of November 1, 2024, the number of unique delegates has increased from 13,835 to 16,902, while the number of voting delegations has also increased from 15,060 to 18,366. Notably, the number of DRep registrations has increased by 21, from 603 to 624.

These upgrades mark a significant step in perfecting the Cardano ecosystem, enhancing scalability and promoting community engagement in the platform's development.
