Spoiler: "Binance Representative"

I was recently added to a WhatsApp group in which individuals posing as "Binance representatives" claimed that the group had been created directly by the Binance team in celebration of its anniversary, and that everyone who was added to one of the groups was lucky, as Binance randomly drew each spot for the community, with limited spots. As you can see in the image below.

Before you continue reading, I challenge you to double-tap your cell phone screen!

According to the so-called "Binance representatives", the group's function was to improve Binance's relationship with users and increase the company's transparency. And for this, Binance had created these groups on its anniversary to allow users to interact with each other, expressing and sharing knowledge and experiences in the context of the investment world.

According to them, the group would be free for everyone to send messages, as long as it was related to entrepreneurship and investments.

Fortunately, as a thinking and rational person, I questioned the action and did some research to see if Binance was really behind this project. After all, if Binance was really involved, it would not only create a great repercussion of references by influencers but also by Binance itself directly.

So first I checked my email, and I didn't find any notice of having been added to a group or context about birthdays. Then I checked on the Binance crypto asset brokerage platform itself, and there was no notice about it either. So I looked on Binance's social media, and there was no notice either. And finally, I searched on Google for possible scams using the Binance name, and that's when I found the warning developed by Binance itself:

“Scammers often pose as Binance representatives by creating fake community groups on messaging platforms.

Please note that Binance has never appointed any analyst or official Binance representative to provide investment advice to users. As a world-leading cryptocurrency trading platform that facilitates trading activities among users, Binance will never provide financial advice to users in any manner whatsoever.”

How to avoid being a victim of a scam?

Binance itself also guides you on this, as described below, exactly the same as the official Binance scam warning website:

"There are, however, some telltale signs that this group was not legitimate:

1. Binance image is distorted and not of sufficient quality;

2. The presence of grammatical errors;

3. Missing punctuation or spelling errors."

And as you can see, in the image that I showed the group that added me, the image was distorted and not of sufficient quality.

In addition to these aspects, there are 2 other ways to confirm whether the action related to Binance is a scam or not:

1. Checking your email: If Binance does something like this, you can be absolutely sure that they will notify you directly via email before it happens.

2. Checking your notifications on the Binance app itself: Whenever events occur on Binance, it notifies its users directly on its asset platform.

Conclusion

The world belongs to the smart. Be critical and act rationally in situations like this if you want to avoid disasters in your journey as an investor. Don't let greed, ignorance and impulsiveness blind you. Be wise and always doubt, and also research, if possible at the central source of the cause, having there the confirmation of whether or not it is true.

Don't be fooled by good arguments, because when misinformed, anything is a good argument.

If you really want to be successful as an investor, follow me and understand that the main obstacle to your success will be your biggest enemy, misinformation.
