So far, 452 major US companies have filed for bankruptcy this year, the second-highest number in 14 years.
This number comes after only 466 bankruptcies recorded in 2020 when economic activity was halted due to lockdowns.
For the first time since the pandemic, the economy appears to be slowing down.
