On September 3, the Chaofan Shou account associated with the Fuzzland project announced on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that the Penpie protocol had been hacked. According to initial reports, $17 million was stolen from the project, and the team behind the protocol was unaware of the incident when it happened. This allowed the attackers to steal an additional $10 million, bringing the total losses to $27 million. The lost funds included cryptocurrencies such as Ether, USDC, and sUSD. The account also filed an alert on Etherscan, which red-flagged the address involved in the hack.
