Moraes maintains suspension of X, but backtracks on VPN blocking
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), decided to maintain the suspension of X (formerly Twitter), but backtracked on the measure that blocked the use of VPN applications.
Initially, the blocking of VPNs was determined to prevent users from circumventing the suspension of the platform.
However, Moraes reconsidered the decision after assessing that the ban on VPNs could impact other areas that depend on these tools to guarantee privacy and security on the internet.
With this, the use of VPNs was allowed again, although X remains inaccessible.
