MATIC to POL Migration is here!!!

On September 4th Polygon Ecosystem will be migrating it's MATIC

token to a new POL token. This transition will replace the current token ticker, making it the new native gas and staking token for the Polygon PoS network. In subsequent phases, POL will serve a crucial role in the AggLayer.

So what happens to MATIC holders?

🆙MATIC holders are needed to upgrade (except for PoS holders)

🚫MATIC token will now not be supported after the migration.

🤝All subsequent upgrade will be carried out with POL ecosystem

To migrate from MATIC to POL here's some information:

✅All PoS MATIC holder will automatically change to POL tokens. (Although EPC setting need to recalibrate for "POL" name to display properly)

✅MATIC holders on Ethereum, Polygon zkEVM, or centralized exchanges (CEXes) need to take action. For proper explanation see their blog site:

So what's it's benefits and it's future uses?

🔥Community can decide to expand the utility of POL to serve a crucial role in the AggLayer

🔥Will be used in Polygon staking hub (to be released in 2025), including block generation, zero-knowledge proof generation, and participation in Data Availability Committees (DACs).

🔥POL will be the native gas and staking token of Polygon PoS and fundamental to Polygon network security
