Dogecoin hits annual high on its tenth anniversary

On December 6, Dogecoin (DOGE) turned ten years old. The meme cryptocurrency rate reached its highest level for the year - $0.102.

During the day, the asset rose in price by almost 17%. Positive dynamics could have been provoked by a Bitcoin rally , which pulled other altcoins into the “green zone”.

The meme token returned to 10th place in terms of capitalization on the CoinGecko list with $14.5 billion. Trading volume over the past 24 hours exceeded $3.2 billion.

Despite reaching local highs, the cryptocurrency needs to grow another sevenfold to reach the ATH of $0.73 recorded in May 2021.

Dogecoin was launched on December 6, 2013 by developer Billy Marcus and Adobe Systems sales employee Jackson Palmer, who decided to joke about the rapidly growing number of cryptocurrencies.

The X community actively congratulates the project on its anniversary, but DOGE’s biggest admirer, Elon Musk, abstained.
