Leones del Caracas didn’t waste any time. Just two days of practice were enough for the capital team to show that the 2026-2027 LVBP season is no joke: Mikell Manzano, Anthony Vizcaya, Ricardo Rodríguez, and the invited Jhoniel Serrano are already working on the mound, while Brainer Bonaci, Aldrem Corredor, and Liván Soto joined the infield, and Leonel Espinoza and José Rondón did the same in the outfield. Wilfredo Tovar, the franchise’s historic cornerstone, is gearing up for his fifteenth season in the Venezuelan winter league.

The Venezuelan rental ball has just signed an unprecedented agreement in its history: for the first time, a single national company for the manufacturing of clothing and athletic footwear — RS Group, headquartered and with a plant in Guatire — will outfit all eight teams in the tournament, as well as the technical and umpiring structure of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League for the 2026-2027 season. The announcement was made at the company’s own plant, in the presence of its founder Salvatore Volpe and the LVBP president, Giuseppe Palmisano, along with club executives.
