When contacted directly, Renzo stated they could not assist due to regulatory limitations. In DeFi, teams are extremely cautious about intervening in specific user fund movements. Doing so can be interpreted as exercising custody/control over user assets, which risks reclassifying the protocol under securities, money transmitter, or other regulations. Many protocols deliberately stay โnon-custodialโ to avoid this. Decentralization & Precedent Concerns
Renzo (like most serious DeFi protocols) emphasizes trustlessness. Granting the team (or even governance) easy power to seize, burn, or redirect arbitrary user funds sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the โnot your keys, not your coinsโ principle. It could also open the door to abuse or legal liability.
The stuck ezETH was burned from the CoboSafeAccount contract.
Equivalent ezETH was minted back: ~80% (~6,330 ezETH) to the userโs wallet and ~20% split between two other addresses (widely believed to be a finderโs fee / white-hat / negotiator compensation
