Over the last 24 hours, Shiba Inu ($SHIB ) has started drawing attention again. The price currently sits around $0.00000611, gaining 3.64% in a single day and nearly 13% over the past week.
That movement alone wouldn’t mean much in crypto, but the activity around SHIB is becoming difficult to ignore.
Daily trading volume recently crossed $106M, pushing well above the usual $100M baseline. When volume climbs like this, it usually means traders are stepping back in. Futures markets are showing the same signal — open interest increased from $53M to about $62.8M, suggesting more traders are positioning for potential price moves.
Another interesting detail is the buy pressure imbalance. Large traders bought roughly 458.8M SHIB tokens, compared to about 165.4M sold. That gap often hints that accumulation is quietly happening behind the scenes.
At the same time, the ecosystem itself is seeing activity. Shibarium transactions jumped 148%, rising from 656 to 1,360 transactions in just one day. It’s not massive yet, but spikes like this often precede larger network engagement.
Meanwhile, the burn mechanism continues running in the background. Over 4 million SHIB tokens were burned in the past 24 hours, a 63% increase in burn rate. In reality, the amount removed from circulation is still extremely small relative to the total supply, but it does show the community’s continued effort to reduce supply over time.
Regulation and institutional infrastructure are also evolving around the token.
Late in 2025, Coinbase launched regulated SHIB futures, including perpetual contracts. Around the same time, U.S. regulators allowed national banks to broker SHIB trades under specific risk-managed frameworks. The UK also moved to formally recognize SHIB tokens as enforceable personal property under its updated property law framework.
These developments don’t automatically mean price will surge, but they do expand the financial infrastructure supporting the asset.
Looking at the chart structure, traders are watching a key resistance range between $0.0000062 and $0.0000065. A clean breakout above that zone could open the door for further upside momentum.
On the downside, support zones sit around $0.00000580 down to $0.00000550. Many traders appear to be accumulating near these levels while managing risk if momentum weakens.
Technical indicators are still mixed. The RSI sits below 50, which usually indicates a sideways or consolidating market. That means SHIB may continue moving within a range unless strong buying pressure returns.
Sentiment across the broader crypto market also reflects caution. The Fear & Greed Index currently sits around 40, signaling mild uncertainty. Historically, this environment often produces short-term corrections of 5–10%, especially when futures activity rises quickly.
For traders using leverage, the rising open interest suggests it may be safer to reduce leverage levels, potentially below 3x, to avoid liquidation risk if volatility spikes.
Another catalyst currently circulating is the Binance Web3 Wallet airdrop campaign, which includes SHIB as part of a $500,000 reward pool. Incentive programs like this often increase short-term trading activity and wallet engagement.
So the situation around SHIB right now is interesting.
Volume is rising.
Futures interest is growing.
Network activity is ticking up.
But resistance still needs to break before a clear trend forms.
That leaves the market at a crossroads — one where momentum could accelerate… or stall into consolidation.
