I keep thinking about whether an AI system should verify its answers or verify how confident it deserves to be.

Most models are built to produce the most likely response from the information they have seen before. When the data fits familiar patterns, the result often looks convincing. But confidence can quietly drift away from reality when the environment changes faster than the model expects.

This is why I find confidence verification just as important as output verification when I think about @OpenGradient. I do not see verification as proving that a computation happened. I see it as understanding whether that computation still deserves to be trusted under the conditions it was generated.

For me, the real value is not chasing perfect accuracy. It is identifying the point where certainty begins to outrun evidence. That gap can grow through model drift, unseen scenarios, or assumptions that no longer match the world they were trained to describe.
