Chainalysis Traces THORChain Attacker's Cross-Chain Funding Route Before Theft
Chainalysis said wallets linked to the THORChain attacker moved funds for weeks before the theft, including an 8 ETH transfer 43 minutes before the attack. Chainalysis said the route passed through Monero, Hyperliquid, Arbitrum, Ethereum, and THORChain, with funds converted into USDC along the way. As of Friday afternoon, the stolen funds remained untouched, and Chainalysis said the Hyperliquid-to-Monero route may be the attacker's next move.
