In the past few days, President Trump has asked for help from countries to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
The reason is if the Strait of Hormuz is secured, Iran will lose its leverage and the war will be over.
But here's how each country has responded to Trump's help.
Japan: Said they're not looking into any sea safety missions at the moment.
United Kingdom: Turned down the request, saying it could make the fight with Iran even worse.
Australia: Decided against sending ships, and officials pointed out they haven't agreed to join this particular effort.
France: Said no to sending boats, calling it "unnecessary escalation." Instead, France is checking out its own purely protective plan with other countries.
Germany: Made it clear they don't plan to jump into the conflict.
Norway: Straight-up said no to the request.
Canada: Mentioned they're not getting involved in the wider U.S.-Israel military moves tied to this mess.
China: Passed on the invite, saying they'll stick to talks to help cool things down.
But why are they turning down Trump's request?
The reason is very simple: humiliation and tariffs.
Last year, Trump announced reciprocal tariffs, which have done a lot of damage to several countries' economies.
Even after the Supreme Court deemed tariffs illegal, the Trump administration is coming up with other plans to impose even harsher tariffs.
The other reason is humiliation, as Trump said previously that NATO allies did not truly fight alongside the U.S. in Afghanistan.
Not only that, Trump also threatened eight NATO allies with punitive tariffs for opposing his plan to acquire Greenland.
And because of this, no one is ready to help the US.
But if the Strait of Hormuz is not secured, how will oil pass?
Well, Iran has already made it clear that the US, Israel, and their allies won't get the pass.
Any country that won't help the US now could definitely get some advantage, and that's why they are not jumping into the conflict, as eventually, they'll all get oil just by doing nothing.
