According to TechFlow's Deep Tide report, Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi stated at the Bitcoin 2025 conference that he is considering establishing a Bitcoin strategic reserve for Panama City and exploring the possibility of accepting Bitcoin for canal toll payments.
Under Mizrachi's push, Panama City has passed legislation allowing residents to pay taxes, parking fines, licenses, and other fees using Bitcoin, Ethereum, and some stablecoins. His inspiration comes from El Salvador's Bitcoin policy.
