Bitmine Immersion Technologies is another step closer to its goal of owning 5% of Ethereum’s supply after buying another 32,447 ETH, worth roughly $81 million, last week.
The company said Monday that it held 5,847,611 ETH, worth around $15 billion as of August 23.
With Ethereum’s supply at approximately 120.7 million tokens, the 5% mark is about 6.04 million ETH. That puts Bitmine roughly 187,000 ETH short of its goal.

I was looking at how Dusk handles communication between nodes, and Kadcast caught my attention.
Instead of having every node repeatedly broadcast messages to all its neighbours, Kadcast uses a Kademlia-based structure with multicast trees. Messages are forwarded through selected peers at increasing XOR distances.
That sounds like a small architectural choice, but it can reduce redundant transmissions and unnecessary bandwidth.
I like these details because they’re easy to overlook.

Access controls can determine who is eligible to hold or transfer an asset.
Transfer rules can enforce restrictions before a transaction proceeds.

The asset layer also describes force transfers and auditability, while the licensing system can handle license validity, revocation and renewal.

The deeper I went into the architecture, the more I realized there’s a different story here.
Dusk isn’t simply trying to make blockchain finance “private.”
It is trying to make the underlying infrastructure behave more like financial infrastructure actually needs to behave.
DuskDS sits underneath as the settlement and data-availability layer, with Succinct Attestation providing proof-of-stake consensus and deterministic finality.
Then the architecture separates execution.
DuskEVM gives developers an EVM-compatible path for Solidity and familiar tooling, while DuskVM gives native Rust/WASM execution directly on the L1.
That separation caught my attention.

That feels much more human to me.
