The U.S. is seeking to join Elon Musk's legal challenge to overturn the European Union's 120 million euro fine against social media platform X for violating online rules. According to Sina Finance, the Donald Trump administration has filed an application with the General Court of the European Union in support of X's effort to overturn the landmark case.

The fine was issued by the European Commission in December last year and has since become a flashpoint in increasingly tense transatlantic relations. The ruling accused X of violating transparency requirements and misleading users through the design of its verification program. Representatives for X, the European Union, and the EU lower court did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
