South Korea is taking a major step toward bringing traditional financial assets on-chain.
Starting February 2027, Koreaâs new security token framework will begin with:
đŠ Institutional private MMFs
đ Private bonds
đ Unlisted stocks
âïž Tokenized fractional investments
The roadmap doesnât stop there.
Korean regulators plan to gradually expand tokenization to public securities, while also exploring stablecoin-based on-chain settlement and tokenization models for listed stocks.
Think of it as the foundation for a Korean version of BlackRockâs BUIDL â but ultimately spanning a much broader range of traditional financial assets.
Korea is moving from tokenizing alternative assets to building infrastructure for tokenizing the capital market itself. đ°đ·
