1. How do refunds work when using Pix?
If a transaction is made using the Pix functionality, the refund will be issued in BRL matching the exact value converted at the time of the payment.
2. Why is my Pix payment taking longer than usual?
Payments may be delayed due to network outages, which can affect the time needed to approve a transaction. In some cases, these interruptions in the network may also lead to failed transactions. If that happens, users will not be charged.
3. What happens if I have made an incorrect transfer using my balance?
If you’ve sent a Pix payment to the wrong person in Brazil, you can take the following steps to attempt a refund. However, success depends on the recipient’s cooperation and the specific circumstances of the transaction. Here’s what you can do:
1. Contact the recipient directly: Reach out to the recipient and request a refund. If they agree, they can process the refund through their banking app by locating the transaction and following the refund instructions.
2. Report the issue to your bank: If the recipient is uncooperative, contact Binance's customer support service immediately to report the mistaken transaction. Provide details such as the transaction amount, date, and recipient’s Pix key or account information. Banks can facilitate communication with the recipient’s bank to request a refund.
3. Use the special return mechanism (MED): For cases involving fraud or system errors, the Central Bank of Brazil has introduced the Mecanismo Especial de Devolução (MED), or Special Return Mechanism. If the transaction was fraudulent or resulted from a system error, Binance customer support service will reach out to our payment processor to initiate a refund. The funds may be returned within 24 hours if the claim is validated.
4. Why cannot I use the Pix feature?
The Pix feature is only for individual users in Brazil who have completed identity verification.
Additionally, the Pix feature is currently unavailable for users who verified their identity with a passport or who are missing CPF information. Support for these users will be available soon. Please stay tuned.
5. Which tokens (or fiat) can be used for payments?
Please note, payments can only be made using crypto, meaning that any BRL in your Binance wallet cannot be used via Pix. Approved tokens on Binance Pay can be used for making payments via Pix.
6. How can I change my Pix limit?
You can change your Pix transaction limit by going to [Pix] - [Settings] - [Pix Limit].
Tap on [Edit] to update any of the daily limits. Monthly limits cannot be updated.
Enter the new limit you wish to set. If the new limit is lower than the current limit, it will take effect immediately. If the new limit is higher than the current limit, it will be effective after 24 hours.
