How to Set the Customized Margin Call Ratio and Alert Frequency on Binance Margin?

2025-03-11 08:19

To help users manage their position risk more efficiently, Binance Margin now supports customized margin call ratio and alert frequency for both Isolated Margin and Cross Margin. With these two tools, users can set personalized risk thresholds and control the frequency of alerts, ensuring real-time visibility into positions and proactive risk mitigation.

What is Customized Margin Call Ratio?

In margin trading, different margin modes and leverage levels have their own default margin call ratio. This new function allows you to customize the margin call ratio within a certain range.

When your Margin Level drops to the your customized margin call ratio, you’ll receive the alert through both email and SMS. Please note that after modifying the custom margin call ratio, you need to wait 1 hour before you can modify it again.

Setting a higher margin call ratio gives you more time to respond and reduces the risk of liquidation, while setting a lower margin call ratio may result in a shorter interval between the margin call alert and the actual liquidation, potentially higher risks.

What is the alert frequency?

The alert frequency determines how often a margin call alert is sent to you within a period of time when the threshold is met. The alert frequency cycle will restart when your Margin Level is above the threshold, or the time period exceeds the one you defined.

Note: Binance Margin supports setting the alert frequency to every 1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours. The default margin call alert frequency is once per 24 hours.

Which Margin account mode is supported?

The Margin Call Ratio Customization and Margin Call Alert Frequency features are supported in Cross Margin Classic, Cross Margin Pro and Isolated Margin mode.

Sub-accounts also support adjustments, which can be made by logging into the sub-account on the website and setting it up accordingly.
