Alpha Limit Order

A limit order is a type of order used in trading that allows you to buy or sell an asset at a specified price or better. When placing a limit order, you set the maximum price you are willing to pay for a buy order or the minimum price you are willing to accept for a sell order. This ensures that you have control over the price at which your trade is executed. Limit orders are particularly useful in volatile markets, as they help traders avoid unfavorable price movements and ensure trades are executed at desired price levels. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why can’t I find the limit order function in Binance Alpha?

Users need to update their Binance App to version 2.99.2 and above to access the limit order function.

2. Why do some Alpha Tokens only support the Instant order function?

Due to multiple reasons such as liquidity, price restriction, regional compliance, some Alpha Tokens may not support limit order function, please refer to product page for more information.

3. My order price reached the index price, but why wasn’t it filled or executed?

There are a few common reasons why a limit order may not be executed:

  • Block confirmation timing: The Alpha limit order function depends on the underlying blockchain’s confirmation speed. For example, if you place an order at 13:45:35 UTC and the next block confirmation is at 13:45:40 UTC, the system will only attempt to match the order at 13:45:40 UTC.
  • Low token liquidity: If the selected token has poor on-chain liquidity, there may not be enough counterparties to match your order.
  • Uncompetitive order price: If your limit price is far from the current market price, it may take longer (or fail) to find a match.
  • Network congestion: High on-chain traffic can delay order processing and matching.

Users can place a more competitive limit order price than the index price for a faster match. Alternatively, you can choose the Instant order function

4. How is the trading fee charged for Alpha limit orders?

Users can refer to the order placement page to understand the estimated order trading fee. Alpha limit order will not be charged extra on-chain gas fees.

5. What happens if an Alpha Token is delisted or stops supporting limit order function anymore?

In the event that the Alpha Token is delisted:

  • All open limit orders for that token will be automatically canceled, and the associated funds will be returned to the user’s Alpha or Funding account.
  • Alpha limit order function may stop being supported earlier than Alpha instant order function

In the event that the Alpha Token stops supporting the limit order function:

  • All open limit orders will also be automatically canceled, and the associated funds will be returned to the user's Alpha account.
  • Users may continue to trade Alpha token via [Instant] function.
