Risk management lesson — the rule that separates those who survive from those who blow their account 🛡️
$BTC now: ~$83,036. Weekly support: ~$82,776. Resistance: ~$87,220.
Practical example ($1,000 account):
1️⃣ The 1% rule: never risk more than 1% per trade → $10. An account risking 1% can survive 100 bad trades.
2️⃣ Technical stop: below REAL support, not at a round number. Entry $83,036 → stop $82,700 (just below $82,776) = $336 distance (0.40%).
3️⃣ Position size: $10 ÷ 0.40% ≈ $2,471. This calculation determines how much to buy — not your “gut feeling.”
4️⃣ Minimum R:R of 1:2: risk $10 to make $20 → target $83,708. If the setup doesn’t offer 1:2, don’t enter.
Two rules most people ignore:
• Daily limit: stop after a 3% loss for the day ($30 here). A tired trader is a careless trader.
• Correlation: $BTC , $ETH and $SOL usually fall together. Three “diversified” 1% trades can amount to a single 3% bet.
And going all-in? Without a stop, an 8% drop in a huge position costs $80 in this account — the same as 8 disciplined stop-outs. Several small stop-outs keep you in the game; going all-in takes you out of it.
Preserving capital is strategy #1. Everything else comes after.
