The New York Stock Exchange’s parent company ICE is back at it!
According to Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is considering putting more money into Polymarket, a prediction market platform, for another round of financing. Before this, ICE had already poured more than $1.6 billion into Polymarket.
ICE CEO Jeff Sprecher has said: as long as this investment can help make deals happen, the company would be happy to keep participating—even willing to "stand behind" this round of fundraising.
Even more startling is that, according to earlier reports, Polymarket’s valuation in this round is targeting more than $20 billion—more than double compared with October.
From traditional financial giants to prediction-market upstarts, the combination of legacy exchanges and on-chain prediction markets is growing ever closer. This prediction-market space is being "validated" by Wall Street.
