The United States is demanding that Binance pay more than $4 billion as part of a proposed resolution to a years-long investigation into the cryptocurrency exchange. The resolution could be introduced as soon as the end of this month.
Negotiations between the Justice Department and Binance include the possibility that Binance founder CZ could face criminal charges in the U.S. under an agreement to resolve investigations into alleged money laundering, bank fraud and sanctions violations.
