They scammed me on Binance P2P so you don’t have to
P2P is the easiest way to buy USDT in ZW, but it’s also where most people lose money. Here are the 3 scams I see every week:
FAKE PROOF OF PAYMENT
The seller sends you a screenshot, you release USDT, but no money arrives in your bank.
Solution: Only release after verifying in your banking app. SMS messages can be faked.
“ACCIDENTAL OVERPAYMENT”
The buyer sends $100 for $50 worth of USDT, asking you to return the $50. The original $100 gets reversed.
Solution: Never refund. Tell them to contact support.
THIRD-PARTY PAYMENTS
The buyer pays from their cousin’s account. Then the cousin files a fraud claim.
Solution: Only accept payments under the name on the P2P account.
EXTRA TIP:
Stick with merchants who have more than 1000 transactions and a completion rate of 98% or higher. The 0.1% cheaper fee isn’t worth it.
QUESTION:
What’s been the most shady experience you’ve had on P2P? Leave it below so others can avoid it.👇
