📛 BitMEX Exchange Announces Closure
The BitMEX crypto exchange will completely cease operations on September 23, 2026. New user registration is already closed, and starting August 26 you will only be able to close existing positions.
Users are advised to withdraw funds in advance. After the shutdown, accounts will remain available only for withdrawing assets, and a fee will be charged for holding unwithdrawn funds — $50 per month or 1% of the balance (whichever is greater).
BitMEX has been in operation for more than 11 years, became the first exchange with perpetual futures up to 100x, and, according to the company, has never lost customer funds due to hacking.
