Good morning, Venezuelan families and all of Latin America.

The CLARITY Act remains stuck in the U.S. Senate, but in the meantime, the focus is on us. SEC Chair Paul Atkins said a few days ago that the fate of the rumored 600,000 BTC from Venezuela (about $60 billion) “remains to be seen,” and that decisions of this kind are not within the SEC’s jurisdiction.

“Shooting yourself in the foot?” Organizations such as Transparency International have warned that laws like this have “blind spots” that would allow corrupt regimes and drug traffickers to move dirty money in crypto. But while some point to Venezuela as an example of risk, the Blockchain Association argues the opposite: it claims that cryptocurrencies have been a lifeline for Venezuelan activists, journalists, and educators when the regime blocked their access to traditional banking.

The real debate is on the table:

Are we a "risk case" that justifies harsh regulations that exclude us, or are we living proof that Bitcoin and stablecoins are real financial freedom?

I ask you, who lives this firsthand:

Do you think the use of crypto in Venezuela should be viewed as a threat or as the only real alternative to bypass state control? I’m reading your comments 👇
