Q-Day hasn’t arrived yet, but capital is already lining up early.

QIZ Security has just secured a $1.7 million seed round, led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from Singtel Innov8. What this company—founded in 2025—does is rather “niche”: password posture management plus post-quantum cryptography (PQC) governance.

The angle is clear: within an enterprise, exactly how many weak keys, outdated encryption protocols, and algorithm assets awaiting migration are there? Most CISOs actually don’t have a precise number in their heads. With agentless and API-based automated mapping, QIZ lays out the entire encryption chain in full view, and—on top of that—provides a PQC migration roadmap, directly aligning with the compliance frameworks from NIST and the EU.

My personal observation: the narrative around quantum threats has been around for the past couple of years, but what investors can actually write into the term sheet is the kind of certain business that is “compliance-driven + a deliverable pathway,” not distant technical scare tactics. The addition of Singtel as a strategic investor also shows that the telecom sector’s anxiety over key governance is genuine money-and-momentum, not just talk.

Q-Day may still be five to ten years away, but the regulatory window is closing—this is why the seed round can take the bet.
